01What is Chaga

Antioxidant defence, quietly

Chaga is one of the densest natural sources of antioxidant polyphenols. It does not stimulate or sedate. It works in the background, mopping up the oxidative stress that daily life produces.

One of the richest antioxidant sources
Betulinic acid, drawn from the birch it grows on
Immune and anti-inflammatory support
Grounding, not stimulating

Not a cleanse. A steady, protective one.

The evidence

The science behind
Chaga

Chaga grows as a dense black conk on birch trees, and it pulls compounds from the tree as it grows. That is where its betulinic acid comes from, alongside a heavy load of antioxidant polyphenols and melanin.

Most of the research is in the laboratory and in animals, not in large human trials. The antioxidant chemistry is well measured. The health claims that get made around it usually run ahead of the human evidence, so we keep ours modest.

Rich in antioxidants

One of the richest natural sources of antioxidant polyphenols, along with betulinic acid from the birch. Measured mostly in the lab.

A real caution

Very high doses of raw chaga powder have caused kidney injury through oxalates. Our dose is far lower and extracted, but if you have kidney trouble, check first.

What we can and cannot say

Chaga's antioxidant chemistry is real. The human health-outcome evidence is thin, and the caution above is worth respecting. We would rather you knew.

How to take it

However you take it
you will remember to

In coffee

Chaga was a coffee substitute in the north. It belongs in the cup.

In tea

Earthy and warm, the way it has been brewed for centuries.

Straight

One pump on the tongue in the morning.

In cacao

Its earthiness suits a warm cacao.

Liquid absorbs faster, lets you adjust your own dose, keeps longer, and saves you the hours of simmering chaga usually needs.

However you take it
you will remember to

The problem with pills

Most brands grow mycelium on grain, then grind the lot into a pill. The pill is mostly grain, but the label still says mushroom.

How much of it is actually mushroom

Typical powders and capsules

25% mushroom

Mycelium grown on rice or oats, then ground together

  • You are mostly buying rice
  • Half the compounds never make it out
  • You simmer it for hours, or it barely extracts
  • You dread taking it
  • The bottle ends up at the back of a cupboard

POTENT: DETOX Syrup

100% mushroom

Whole birch chaga. No grain at any stage.

  • Wild birch chaga, not grain grown mycelium
  • Dual extracted, so the polyphenols and triterpenes both come through
  • Liquid, no hours of simmering
  • Sugar free, and tastes as good as wild honey
  • Becomes a ritual you actually keep

Dual extracted

Chaga keeps its actives in two places. Water pulls the polysaccharides and polyphenols, ethanol pulls the betulinic acid, so both come through.

Dual extraction

Water pulls the polysaccharides and polyphenols, ethanol pulls the betulinic acid. The alcohol is removed.

The mushroom

Organic wild Chaga (Inonotus obliquus). 1g per serving.

Чага Chaga

Chaga grows as a black, cracked mass on birch trees across the cold northern forests. Siberian and Russian villages have brewed it as a daily tea for centuries, and in Finland it was roasted as a coffee substitute through the years when coffee was scarce.

It is not a soft mushroom you would eat. It is a dense, slow-growing conk that draws its compounds from the birch itself, which is where the betulinic acid comes from. We extract it into a syrup so you get the compounds without the hours of simmering.

FAQ

Is this a detox in the sense of a cleanse or flush?

No. Chaga does not empty your system. It is antioxidant and anti-inflammatory support that lets your body's own systems work more smoothly. The name is about grounding and cellular protection, not a purge.

How quickly will I notice anything?

Chaga is a slow, foundational one. Any effect builds over weeks of daily use, not in a single dose, and it is felt as a steadier baseline rather than a hit.

What makes chaga worth taking?

It is one of the richest natural sources of antioxidant polyphenols, along with betulinic acid drawn from the birch it grows on. Most of this is measured in the lab, so we would frame it as cellular support rather than a cure for anything.

Can I take it alongside medication, and is it safe for everyone?

Two cautions worth knowing. Chaga is high in oxalates, and very high doses of raw chaga powder have been linked to kidney injury. Our dose is far lower and extracted, but if you have kidney problems or a history of kidney stones, check with your doctor first. Also check if you take blood thinners, immune suppressing medication, or diabetes medication, as chaga can affect clotting, the immune response and blood sugar.

What is the difference between the syrup and powder?

The syrup absorbs faster, gives a precise dose, and keeps longer. Powder needs long steeping and the dose is harder to judge.

Is it suitable for vegans?

Yes. Chaga is a fungus, and the bottle holds only mushroom extract, water and vegetable glycerin.

Consistency,
and resilience.

Chaga is antioxidant support, and support is only worth anything if it is there every day. The benefit is in the habit, not the single dose.

That is the only reason the subscription exists.
